As the gateway to the islands of Ile d'Yeu and Noirmoutier, Saint Jean de Monts lies at the geographical centre of western France's atlantic coast, on a 8 km stretch of fine sandy beach. The sea-water temperatures are mild, the sunshine levels are exceptionnal and the 700 hectares of scented pine forests invite exploration. The area is a great favourite for all kinds of water sports, inshore fishing on the pier and fresh water fishing in the marshes.
